What’s in the Box
- (1) Ford Performance Dark Horse 5.0 Coyote Long Block
Dark Horse Gen 4 Coyote Long Block – 5.0
Upgrade or replace your damaged or blown 2024-2025 Mustang 5.0 with a new Dark Horse Gen 4 long block that features more naturally aspirated horsepower than a standard Gen 4 Mustang 5.0 comes from the factory with. This long block assembly is the basis for the stout Ford Performance Dark Horse Gen 4 Coyote engines. The Dark Horse Gen 4 is a modern 5.0 32-valve DOHC V-8 that uses advanced features like Direct and Port Fuel Injection, Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT), high-flow cylinder heads, and 12.0:1 compression ratio. Combined, this technology delivers 500 horsepower with high-flow cylinder heads, dual throttle bodies, and higher compression. A lightweight aluminum block features cross-bolted main bearing caps and thick main bearing bulkheads, increasing bottom-end strength, optimizing oil drain-back, and windage control to improve high-rpm performance. The rotating assembly features a Forged steel crankshaft, sintered steel connection rods, and Hypereutectic aluminum pistons for superior strength.
